Victorian Corset Making Workshop
This hands-on workshop is taught by Linda Sparks, the author of "The Basics of Corset Building". After taking this weekend workshop you will have a corset pattern that is custom fit to your body and possibly a corset too (if you get it finished) and a good understanding of corset construction and fit.

This weekend workshop is an intensive two days but you walk away with an over bust pattern that fits your body, a muslin, a partially finished corset (how far you get depends on you) and a whole lot of knowledge. There is no cheaper way to get a custom fit corset!
An open workshop period will be available to come back and finish your corset. Fee includes all materials

Some sewing machines are available but we recommend you bring your own. Please also bring all your own tools (pins, ruler, scissors, tracing wheel etc.).
All materials and pattern will be provided.

All Corset Making Classes will be held at Farthingales L.A. 3306 Pico
Blvd. in Santa Monica, unless
otherwise stated – there is plenty
of free parking behind the
shop. Schedule of classes will be posted on this page as they become
available.

You'll start with a commercial pattern from which you'll make a mockup. Then you will adjust the pattern to fit you specifically.

And you walk away with a custom fit corset that you can proudly say you made yourself
(once you finish it) as well as the pattern
you adjusted so you can make
another one, or two or more without fitting

This is an introductory course but you must
have general sewing skills and
- understand how your sewing machine works
- be able to sew a relatively
straight line
