Farthingales L.A. offers only Waist Cinchers for sale on the web as waist cincher corsets are the easiest corset to fit since they cover the least amount of the body. Waist Cinchers are a versatile corset as they can pass for belts, co-ordinate with many outfits or be worn as underwear. A great way to start corset wearing is with a waist cincher corset. The waist cincher covers the waist and a few inches above and below the waist - not all waist cinchers are the same - like belts there is a wide variety of styles and cuts but unlike belts waist cinchers are more difficult to fit so measuring your body is extremely important.

A well made waist cincher is not inexpensive as quality materials are used and construction is complex. When buying any corset it's important to consider what you want from it. Do you want to wear it once for a party - just for fun? Wear it to help cinch in your waist to make it look smaller or help you fit a smaller dress? Wear it regularly to help with weight control or for partying?
A corset that is going to be worn for fun and only a few times can cost as little as $75.00 and this type of corset cannot be found at Farthingales L.A. You also may want to ask yourself if you want to spend $75.00 on a "disposable" corset or invest more and get one you can wear often and that will truly help to define your shape. Inexpensive corsets - any under about $100.00 are often made with light weight materials that are inexpensive but not strong so body shaping is limited and these corsets wear out fairly quickly. Pretty little lingerie style corsets are not designed to shape the body …they’re designed more as “garments of enticement” to be worn for a short time and then… taken off. ;-)
Custom Corset (cannot be ordered through this page)A corset that will help cinch your waist in will be under pressure as it restrains your waist so it needs to be strong in order to do the job without getting bent out of shape or having the seams come apart. A strong corset will be made with steel bones and tightly woven non-stretch fabric a really good one will be made from "coutil" a fabric designed for corset construction. Farthingales L.A. sells corsets in both these categories. A coutil corset is the ultimate corset for both longevity and comfort. The waist cinchers we are selling here are made of two layers of coutil and steel bones. Even well-made corsets need to be broken in over time much like an expensive pair of shoes. Farthingales L.A. web site is offering only two styles of waist cincher corset, a classic waist cincher and a slightly longer version that is closer to an under-bust corset style. Depending on our stock ordering one these corsets may take up to 6 weeks for delivery. If the corset you want is in stock it will be shipped with in a few days.
 Our Classic Waist Cincher is shorter than our Basic Under-Bust Corset style and offers less tummy and hip control. It’s cut higher over the hips allowing the hips to spring out freely creating a more dramatic hip to waist ratio without tight lacing. The Classic Waist Cincher has a very pointed center front and center back at both the top and bottom edges. Somehow this style reminds me of fairytale characters like Sleeping Beauty, very pretty.
Our Basic Under-Bust is not quite as long as an under-bust corset should be but it is longer than our Classic Waist Cincher. It offers more tummy control, is cut lower over the hips and has a rounded center back and center front. It is a better choice for waist training.

Underbust FA-UBS-90Farthingales corsets are made with two layers of coutil, the exterior is satin or floral brocade coutil (both a cotton viscose blend) and the inside is a fine herringbone coutil of 100% cotton. Corsets are not cool but being made with high cotton content fabrics allows them to breath and be more comfortable. Our best quality spring steel bones and some spiral steels are used along with our German busks. Fine quality materials along with exceptional workmanship make these corsets an excellent investment.
While we are confident in the quality of our product we will NOT ACCEPT RETURNS of corsets of any style. We do not accept returns of in store corset purchases or of on-line corset purchases. Corsets are considered underwear and we will not accept returns.
The following LINK has important information for measuring your body to get the best possible fit. Please read all information carefully and follow the instructions. Keep in mind these are not custom fit corsets, they are “off the rack”, so you will need to determine the best size for you and keep in mind the fit may not be perfect. Despite being off the rack corsets an order could take up to 6 weeks for delivery depending on our stock situation.
